MBA Report: 1 in 7 Homeowners Past Due or in Foreclosure

In a new report from the Mortgage Bankers Associations, 1 in 7 homeowners are delinquent or in foreclosure.  Compared to last year 1 in 8 were delinquent or in foreclosure. 

I believe that real estate market will continue to go down.  There are a few reasons I believe this will be the case.

1.  The tax credit for first time homebuyers stole buyers that would have been buying later this year.

2.  Unemployment is too high.

3.  With that many people going being delinquent or going in to foreclosure.  These people will not be able to buy.  They will have to rent.

4.  That will lead to investors searching for Steals so that they can make money by renting.

Remember that April 30th is the last day for the Home Buyer Credits

April 30th of 2010 is the last day for you to be under contract.  If you are a First Time Home Buyer,( or have not owned a home for the last 3 years) you may qualify for the $8,000.00 Credit.  If you have lived in your current home for 5 of the last 8 years you could qualify for the $6,500.00 Credit. 

Interest Rates are expected Rise. 

Now is the Time to Buy.

Good News, Bad News or just blah blah blah

From the USA Today website with the link below, Mr. Bernanke stated the interest rates will remain low, mostly because of high unemployment, and weak housing market, that is the Good News.

The Bad News is that your Government is going to stop buy mortgage back securities.  So what does that mean...  It means that Interest rates for purchasing or refinancing a home or car will go up.  

The Blah,blah,blah... Bank of America is going to be "erasing debt of some of its most-troubled borrowers".  What the heck does that mean.  Who qualifies for "the MOST-TROUBLED BORROWERS".  I am confused, are the most-trouble borrowers the people that were irresponsible or are the best friends of one of the CEO's.

Last Reminder to turn your clocks forward 1 hour

It is that time of the year, when you lose an hour of sleep.  I guess that the best way to think of it is that with four kids you really never get to sleep anyways.  Or the other way to think of it is that I will get to sleep in until 7 am.  Either way I hope you get to take a long nap tomorrow.

Wake Up America, Walking away from your home is not going to help!

Recently there have been many articles about Homeowners should just walk away from their home and not make another payment.  The idiots that are saying this must have a hidden agenda.  

Let's play this slippery slope out a bit. 

So if everyone walks away from their home, And everybody rents What would this accomplish.  I get it, Home prices will drop and everyone can get a new loan, because the Government would make the lenders give us a better deal.  As the great Bill Romonowski once said to a Pittsburgh Steeler Quarterback, Stupid, STUPID, STUPID. 

No, this would not happen.  What would happen is everybody would rent and no one would be able to get a loan unless you put down say maybe 50 to 75% CASH Down. 

I believe there are about 1/3 of all homeowners that have no mortgage payments.  Only 10% of Homeowners are behind in payments.  So that means 55 to 57 percent of homeowners are making their payments. 

Come on America, Wake UP!!!
