Right now the single most important part to buying a home is making sure you are Pre Approved for a Loan.  Talk to your lender and make sure that they have everything that they need.

Usually they will need the minimum:

The last 2 years of your tax returns

The last 2 pay stubs, and expect to give the next one that you get too.

Any 1099's, if you are Self employed,

Any information about your 401K, IRA, and such, make sure they have the front and back pages.  Most Financial Groups now use both sides of the paper.

Last 2 bank statements

Then make sure that you ask, Is there anything else that you need.

And there will be.
